A few more of baby "K". Her gallery is almost ready. I'm trying to get it done before Christmas but I can only work on it when my kids are busy with other things, so we'll see if I can get it done. :)

This first one is my fave from her session, it has a seventies action on it. If this were my baby I think I would have to make a HUGE canvas of it. Love this one!

This is another fave. Love that face.

She's got a little smile going on in this first Christmas-y one. Too cute.

Mom had seen this pose and wanted to try it. "K" was so good, she let us do pretty much whatever we wanted.

Obsession (Albuquerque Newborn Twins Photographer)

So there's a trend in newborn photography... naked babies wearing only a hat on their heads. The hats are so fun and creative and different. I have developed an obsession with finding (and buying) the cutest hats. I bought a handful in the last couple of months and then when I went to San Fransisco, I came home with 6 more different hats. I think I need help.

I have a few clients expecting babies this month and next month, so I hope they're prepared for me to play hat dress up with their new babies!

The featured babies in this post are twins, "A" and "J". The Santa hats and the ladybug were their own... I LOVE it when newborn clients have their own hats as well! So fun. Anyway, the ladybug hat and pastel hat were made by the twins grandmother. Wish I was that talented!

This sneak peek is way over due. Between traveling out of state and trying to get all my clients orders taken care of before I left, I haven't had a chance to put up this sneak peek.

This is a very nice couple I met on a VERY cold day for a maternity session. They are expecting their first baby, a boy, very soon. Can't wait to meet him!

I love this photo because of their hands. They both look so gentle and soft... cradling and loving on their baby before he is even here. Love it.

This is what I was up to this weekend... having fun with two toddlers and newborn twins!

These two sweet babies are twins and so tiny and so cute! I loved doing their session and I hope Mom and Dad like what we got.

This is just a small sneak peek for now. I have a few sessions waiting so I'll be posting more of these newborn twins soon.

Little "E" and my niece "H" are best friends and we had a fun session running around Stanford campus and around San Francisco. I have lots to post of these guys too but I may have to wait until after their Christmas cards go out.

Oahu Family Session (Albuquerque Childrens Photographer)

Long over due post! While I was on vacation in Hawaii, I hopped a plane and headed to Oahu to spend the day with my friend from college and her family. Her husband is in the Army so I have only seen her one other time since she got married and at that time there were only two boys with one more on the way. They have added a few more boys to the family since then so I was excited to meet all of them and have the chance to take their picture!

This is the youngest, born just before his Daddy left for a year long deployment to Iraq. He wasn't so interested in crawling through the wet grass, so he improvised.

This last one you can see how it was raining on us the whole shoot! Oh well, I think we got some good ones despite the rain.

I had a great weekend of sessions! Two babies and a maternity, love it.

First up is one of my Baby Club babies... Little "M" is 3 months old now and look at how much she has grown! She's the baby on my blog header at the top... isn't she darling?!

Next is this sweet little girl who is only 10 days old... I LOVE photographing newborns. And how cute is her hat, her Momma made that just for her!

This is sweet baby, "N". At only 8 days old she was a little model for me. Mom was awesome and got her nice and warm and well fed so she slept for her entire session. She was teeny tiny... love her!

Today I did a portrait party at the Botanical Gardens, it was so nice meeting all those families! Everyone was great and all the kids were SO CUTE.

Yesterday was my son's preschool field trip to the GGYR Pumpkin Patch. We had lots of fun!

Here's my two youngest hauling their big 'ol pumpkin in the wagon...

And then taking a pit stop to share a lick from a lollipop...

And another lick while they were "shopping" for a bigger pumpkin...
And then it was time to ride the horses! "D" was not too sure but I asked him to so that I could get a picture and surprisingly, he agreed!

And then it was my baby's turn to have her first horse ride ever! She doesn't look it, but she really was excited about this.

Continued from yesterday... this is my best friend, Bethany's family. I took a lot of pictures so I guess I have to share a lot too!

These first two are continued from yesterday's post... we asked little "S" to give her Daddy a kiss. And boy, did she ever! She grabbed his face, kissed him long enough for me to get a few frames and then pushed him away! Too funny!

This is "N" and he was so good for the entire shoot while we tried to wrangle his sister. He deserves his bribe reward! :)

I LOVE this family shot... I think it may be a new favorite...

I just think this one is hilarious!

And this last one.... I love, love, love it...

There were two ladies there who had the CUTEST hair barrettes for girls. I could have bought them all! But I was good and only got a few.

The first was Sam's Bowtique and she had some amazing creations, check out her web site!

Today I had a booth at Glowing Maternity & Baby Boutique's Mommy Market. It was fun and I met a lot of new people. I also got to see some friends and clients, thanks for coming out!

Model Maternity (Albuquerque Maternity Photographer)

This is the maternity shoot that I did with Bethany for model, Nikki Harding and her new husband.

So let me give you the background story first. Nikki contacted me a few months ago and asked about doing a TFP, which is basically a trade so no money changes hands. Well I have maternity clients so I wasn't really in need of the work for my own portfolio however I knew that my good friend, Bethany needed some for hers and also that there were some shots that I wanted to try that most maternity clients traditionally haven't done. So with that in mind, Bethany and I had planned out our shoot but the weather forced us to change plans. Bethany and I are both natural light photographers so we are at the mercy of the sky. We had to wait out the rain and by the time it stopped, we were running very quickly out of daylight. So with high ISOs we began in the alleys of downtown Albuquerque and then relied on the street lights as it got darker. The cool, urban, city look was what we had planned... so we made it work. It turned out to be exactly what I wanted... something for my future maternity clients to see and say, "Hey, I like that. let's try that!" So without further ado, here are A LOT of the shots that I got.

I just recently learned that a client of mine passed away last month. It was very unexpected and it just made me think about how important it is to make memories with those that you love and make the time to capture that. I am so glad that she called me in June to do a "just because" session with her wonderful boyfriend, Ken.

Caroline, you are missed.

This 1st picture in this post is the only picture that I actually took. The rest were taken by her...

This is my 10 year old daughter. She went with us Saturday night to check out a location and she was using my camera on Manual, at Sunset and changing settings on her own to get the look she was going for. Not only that, but she also did her own editing on the following images. I just hope that she decides to join Staley Photography and not become my competition! :)

This one is blurry I know but I love it. LOVE the bokeh!

This one she told me how she changed her settings so that she could get it really dark.

And these are the ones she took of Bethany... look at her playing with the sun... she's amazing.

My Mom has 9 grandkids and they were all visiting the beach at the same time so we had planned to do a group portrait. So I let everyone know when and where and told them to show up if they wanted some portraits done too... It was a little crazy but we managed to get quite a few shots before the sky opened up on us and we all went running for the cars!

Here's a few for now, I haven't really started on all the grandkids yet...
